Self Help Groups

Women Self Help Groups (SHGs) have become a widespread, successful component of both rural and urban development in India.
Women band together in to groups and motivate each other to create new opportunities for income generation.
RAPID's SHG program works primarily in rural areas that do not have existing SHG programs.
We then counsel the women on the types of mobile training available and facilitate professional training courses that the women are interested in.
Women who complete the training are eligible for a RAPID loan to help them jump start their business
Currently RAPID has 39 SHGs, the majority of which are in rural villages.
